The biggiest positives of this program is that indivdiuals only complete three exercises each workout, three times a week for about 45 minutes per workout. In StrongLifts 5×5, indivdiuals squat every workout, three times a week. It focuses on adding weight each workout as long as you can. Its a truly simple way to add muscle and get strong…fast. The program of 5×5 stands for five sets of five reps. The program of 5×5 stands for five sets of five reps. These are the sets and reps you do on every exercise except Deadlifts. The program mentions that you do Deadlifts for only 1 set of five reps because doing so “would beat you up”..but I’ve been doing 5 sets of 5 reps and I would have to disagree with the author.

The author tells the story of a wresetler in Ancient Greece named Milo from Croton. Milo from Croton got stronger for the Olympics by carrying a newborn calf on his back each day. As the calf grew bigger, he carried a heavier weight. This training stimulated Milo’s body to get stronger and build muscle. It turned him into the strongest guys of his time.
